CT Scan and update

February 3, 2010

I had my second post chemo CT scan 2 weeks ago and receive great news, no cancer. The oncologist was very pleased with the scan and my blood work. There is still a lot of scarring and healing required from the radiation and surgeries but I am on my way back. When I get these results next year my survival chances will be over 99% and 5 years post diagosis I will be cancer free and insurable again.

The recovery has been mixed. I am back to running a couple of times a week, yoga and the bowflex. My stamina continues to improve. The mechanical side of things have not healed and recovered as I would have expected. I will have 2-3 good days a week including maybe one day where I feel normal. Then I will have 2-3 ok days, taking medicine to help, and then there will be a "not so good day" as Cynthia would put it. Additionally, putting back on the weight has not progressed as expected, although, I have moved out of the boys department to buy my clothes but not by much.

All in time I guess. I am pretty much back to work full time with out the travel. I still get exhausted driving for more than an hour at a time but things are always improving.

My spirits are starting to return, but it is difficult without knowing if I will ever fully recover or what limitation I will have to learn to accept. This is all a new journey for me.

Again, I am so thankful that as I have gone down this journey I have had the love and support of so many. Sorry for not writing any updates but I am very focused on returning to health and moving on with life. That phrase has such a new meaning now.
